2022 Reserve Shiraz
If there is a "classic" Warrabilla in the 2022 line-up, this is it.
Harvested throughout mid and late March, followed by fairly traditional treatment in the winery - open fermentation vessels and hand plunging build texture and a complex fruit tannin profile. 12 months in mostly American oak puncheons, 15% of which were new, the balance being one year old. Smithy was one happy winemaker when assembling the blend pre-bottling.
An immense life of fragrant dark fruits with blueberry, blackberry and blood plum leaping from the glass, backed by the spicy caramel and mocha notes of American oak.
The primary fruit characters continue through the front palate where they are pulled into line by fine drying tannins and a firm oaken backbone.
Richer and darker than its Single Vineyard sibling, enjoy over the coming 8-10 years.
