Cellaring & Vintage Guide
Much of our reputation as a winery has been built on producing full bodied, cellar-worthy wines and we appreciate many of our followers and wine club members dedicate much of their cellar space to Warrabilla. To that end we think it important to give honest appraisal of our wines as they develop through the years.
To assist that aim we gather in the cellars every two to three years to conduct an extensive Back Vintage tasting of all Warrabilla wines made in the the preceding 15 years. The results of this comprehensive tasting are then compiled into a Cellaring & Vintage Guide that gives our honest and unfiltered thoughts on the cellaring potential of our wines. Often we are pleasantly surprised with the results, on some occasions disappointed – but mostly it is just great fun!
The Cellaring & Vintage Guide acts as a handy quick reference, offering a brief tasting note and updated drinking window for each of our wines. The guide also contains a number of helpful articles on wine service and cellaring, and a handy vintage rating chart highlighting what we believe to be the best years in Rutherglen.
